Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How can we help you?

We welcome your questions about your dental health because we want our patients to feel empowered when they make decisions about their smiles.

We've compiled a list of the common questions we hear, but if you don't see the answers to your questions, we encourage you to contact our team at (210) 497-4847 to get the information you need.

Dental Implants

Dental implants in San Antonio work well for most people; however, they require that the patient is in good overall health and has enough healthy bone structure to easily support the implant.

The first step in determining if dental implants are right for you is to have an examination with Dr. Pascal. He'll take x-rays of your teeth and bone and let you know if a tooth implant will work well for your needs. If not, he can discuss alternative treatment options for your smile.

If you move forward with dental implants, Dr. Pascal works closely with a trusted oral surgeon to ensure an excellent outcome for your implant placement. Dr. Pascal will monitor your healing process and design and place your implant restoration when it's fully healed and integrated with your bone.

Dental implants can replace one single tooth or multiple teeth by supporting dental prosthetics like a bridge or denture, and Dr. Pascal can discuss all of your options with you during your evaluation.

If you'd like to learn more about dental implants in San Antonio for your smile, you can book an evaluation with Dr. Pascal online or by talking with our team over the phone at (210) 497-4847.

Dr. Pasal has helped hundreds of patients who were plagued with missing teeth restore their smiles! At TPC Dental Care, we offer several options for replacing missing teeth. Read on to learn more about your options.

Dental Bridges

A bridge replaces one or more adjacent teeth by anchoring tooth crowns to healthy teeth supporting prosthetic teeth in between.

Dental bridges are made of ceramic porcelain that Dr. Pascal customizes to blend seamlessly with your smile.

Full or Partial Dentures

Dentures are a removable appliance that can restore multiple missing teeth or even a whole arch of compromised teeth.

We can also support a full or partial denture with dental implants that hold it more securely in place.

Dental Implants

Truly the gold standard in tooth replacement, dental implants replace both your tooth and root, making them the closest option to a natural tooth.

Dental implants can support prosthetics like bridges and dentures so patients missing multiple teeth can enjoy the benefits that implants offer.

Which Option Is Right for Me?

Dr. Pascal can help you determine which option is suitable for your needs during an evaluation. Contact TPC Dental Care online to book your evaluation or call our team at (210) 497-4847.

Family Dentistry

Many patients wonder if the radiation they receive from dental x-rays is harmful. The answer is no.

Modern digital x-rays emit 90 percent less radiation than traditional films taken in the past. This means you actually receive more radiation from the sun outside on a sunny day, making dental x-rays extremely safe.

Dental x-rays also play an integral role in helping Dr. Pascal diagnose his patients properly because they allow an internal view that is not available to the naked eye. This allows early diagnosis of problems like gum disease, tooth decay, and dental cysts.

X-rays are also helpful in planning procedures like dental implant placement, root canal treatment, and tooth extraction. Dr. Pascal may also take an x-ray of a specific tooth for diagnosis when a patient is experiencing pain or a dental emergency.

We recommend one set of bitewing x-rays be taken each year as a baseline for your dental health. In addition, one panoramic x-ray that gives a complete view of your teeth and jawbone should be updated every five years.

Dr. Cesar Pascal and his team welcome children and patients of all ages, making it simple and convenient for families to get the dental care they need without running all over town.

Children can begin their dental journies with us around age one or as soon as their first baby teeth arrive. While this may seem early, it's never too soon to start building a relationship with your children's dentist in San Antonio so you can begin to monitor your child's dental health.

Children should continue to have consistent exams with their dentist every six months like their parents. As your little one matures, we'll begin to incorporate teeth cleanings into their preventive care, but we'll never do any procedure that your child doesn't feel ready for.

We're prepared and well-equipped to provide support for your child as they grow, and Dr. Pascal may recommend procedures like fluoride treatment or dental sealants to protect their teeth from tooth decay and cavities.

Teeth Whitening

Do you feel like your smile has become dull and discolored? At TPC Dental Care, we offer two types of teeth whitening treatments to fit your schedule and budget.

In-Office Teeth Whitening

If you've got a big event coming up, like a wedding or family reunion, you need immediate results that will help you look your best. An in-office teeth bleaching treatment can deliver teeth that are multiple shades brighter than when you arrived.

We'll use high-strength bleaching gel to brighten your teeth in a matter of hours, and you'll be ready for your big event!

Take-Home Teeth Whitening

For customized take-home teeth whitening, we use impressions of your teeth to create custom plastic trays for your smile. The snug, custom fit ensures that no bleaching gel escapes onto your gums and irritates them, and it also delivers better results than ill-fitting generic products you'll find at the store.

The best part is that you'll always have your trays available to you at home whenever you'd like to update your smile!
